Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal offers long-term hair reduction by targeting pigment within the hair follicle. It is an effective, safe, and widely used treatment when hair and skin colour are suitable.
Unlike electrolysis, laser is classified as permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. It works best on dark hair contrasted against lighter skin, and results vary depending on hair colour, skin tone, hormones, and consistency of treatment.
What Laser Hair Removal Can Do
-
✔ Permanent reduction of unwanted hair
-
✔ Faster treatment for larger areas
-
✔ Ideal starting point before electrolysis (when suitable)
-
✔ Suitable for many areas of the face and body
-
✔ Can significantly reduce treatment time and cost long-term
Laser is often the most efficient first step for clients with predominantly dark hair, before transitioning to electrolysis for remaining hairs.
Treatment Timeline & Expectations
Most clients require a course of 8 sessions, typically completed over approximately 12 months.
After completing the initial course:
-
Maintenance sessions are usually required once or twice per year
-
Remaining resistant or lighter hairs may be treated with electrolysis
-
Hormonal conditions may require ongoing management
Laser works progressively, targeting hair during its active growth phase. Consistency is essential for optimal results.
Patch Test – Required for Everyone
A patch test is mandatory for all laser hair removal clients, regardless of previous experience elsewhere.
This ensures:
-
Skin safety
-
Proper settings for your skin and hair
-
Reduced risk of adverse reactions
Laser treatment cannot be performed without a completed patch test.
